Descriptions

One line

Too Slow Again is a very fast, minimalist first-person shooter about beating your own time.

Short

Too Slow Again is Trackmania expressed as an FPS: clear a short handcrafted combat Track, reach extraction and beat the time you set five seconds ago. Enemies that do the same thing every Run, time as the only score, penalties instead of health bars and restarts that never load. Solo, Co-op and PvP.

Long

Too Slow Again is a very fast, minimalist first-person shooter from Ivory Games. Every Track is a short combat course on a white training ground: read the objective, eliminate the marked targets, destroy hostile tech, breach a wall, reach extraction. The clock counts milliseconds, every hit you take costs two seconds and Esc › Enter puts you back at the start in the same frame. Enemies do the same thing every Run, so every Track can be learned and every improvement is yours. Five official Circuits — Assault, Stealth, Precision, Breach and Freelance — test different FPS skills with the same equipment for everyone, Co-op lets up to four players share a Track, PvP pits two or more teams against each other, and a planned Track Editor lets the community build its own challenges. When you lose, the game has two words for you — too slow — and one answer: again.

Logos

TOO SLOW in Anton, as in the game's main menu, with the yellow bar under SLOW: the time you have to beat. AGAIN stands on its side in red, exactly as tall as the capitals, and the bar runs on under it in red — the stretch you went over the target. Use SVG wherever you can.

Rules

  • Keep clear space equal to half the letter height around the logo.
  • Never stretch, rotate, outline, shadow, glow or recolour it.
  • Yellow bar under SLOW, red under AGAIN — or the logo's single colour in one-colour versions. Never cyan.
  • Never set AGAIN upright, apart, or drop it from the name.
  • On yellow, red or cyan backgrounds use the black, white or signal versions.
  • Below 96 px wide, use the monogram.

ELIMINATE MARKED TARGETS

Voice

Short. Dry. Confident. Imperative. The game speaks like a scoreboard with a sense of humour.

  • A Track. A clock. Again.
  • Every medal taken. Now beat yourself.
  • Time spent not running.
  • Everything far is close. Everything close is a problem.
  • The honest choice.

The first two words of the name are also the game's verdict. Every time you lose — to the Track, to a hostile or to another player — the game says it. Like “fire in the hole”, it's meant to be shouted across a room.

  • Always uppercase with a full stop.TOO SLOW.
  • The full stop is red when it can be.It's a penalty.
  • Say why, if you can.TOO SLOW. +00.019
  • Never an insult. It's an invitation to retry.
