What it is

The game

Only score

TIME

Too Slow Again is a first-person shooter about running a short combat course faster than you did last time. Think Trackmania expressed as an FPS: handcrafted Tracks, instant retry, personal bests and medals to chase. Read the objective, run it, see the time, go again.

Fast. Clean. Fair. Again.

  1. 01

    Mastery through repetition

Every attempt teaches you something: a faster line, a better angle, a shortcut through a wall. The Track never changes. You do.

  2. 02

    No randomness

Enemies stand in the same place, react just as fast and shoot the same way on every Run. Weapons kick the same way too. Play better and the time improves — every time.

  3. 03

    Instant retry

Restarting never loads anything. Esc › Enter on keyboard, View on a controller, and you're back on the start line with the countdown already running.

  4. 04

    Time is the score

No points, no combo meter. Every hit you take adds time, leaving the course adds time, and going down ends the Run.

  5. 05

    Readable at speed

Black enemies on a white course, yellow objectives, red threats. You understand everything in a fraction of a second.

  6. 06

    Short by design

Tracks last from fifteen seconds to three minutes. The next attempt is always one key away.

The scoreboard

Where the time went.

Results always show the breakdown, so you know exactly what to fix. Each hit you take is +2 seconds. Leaving the course is +5 seconds. Five hits and the Run is over. There is no health regeneration and there are no lives: damage costs time, nothing else.

Medals

Bronze, Silver, Gold — and Ivory.

Every Track has four target times. Ivory is the developer's own time: the line to beat once you have everything else. Finishing a Track unlocks the next; medals are the long goal.

Readable at speed

A colour means one thing.

Too Slow Again looks like a precision sport: a white training course under a clean sky, with a scoreboard on top. Anything you have to react to is black, yellow or red — and nothing else on the course uses those colours.

  • CourseWalls, floors and platforms. The faint floor grid helps you judge speed and distance.
  • Doors & windowsDark frames mark every exit, so you can read a room from across the hall.
  • CoverBlocks, crates and pillars: you can hide behind this.
  • EnemiesBlack armoured silhouettes. No faces, no clutter.
  • ThreatsHostile tech, laser sights, enemy fire — and time penalties.
  • ObjectivesMarked targets, items, checkpoints and the extraction zone.
  • YouYour hands and gear, your teammates, your Ghosts — and faster times.

Combat

Lethal, predictable, fair.

Every kill reads instantly: hit markers, headshot confirmation, a flinch on every hit, the weapon falling as the body drops. Headshots are lethal and bodies go down in a few hits — and the enemy can do the same to you.

Clarity

What Too Slow Again is not.

  • Not a time-slowing game.It's real-time speed. The clock never slows down — that's the point.
  • Not a points game.Time is the only score.
  • Not an RPG.No XP grind, loot, crafting or skill trees. Veterans get more options, never hidden stats.
  • Not a story campaign.Freelance contracts get a line of context. Nothing ever gets between you and Retry.
  • Not a bullet-sponge shooter.Nobody empties magazines into health bars.
  • Not random.Learn a Track once and it stays learned.
